Meet Karen Riccardelli

In 1990, I started my career as a corporate accountant working for a variety of small and large corporations.  Through these years, I developed my keen sense of bookkeeping and managerial accounting skills.  In 1993, I started preparing taxes as well.  Discovering my passion for tax, I decided to start my new venture, “Riccardelli Accounting”, in September of 1998!  Riccardelli Accounting started out supporting large corporate clients, usually one client at a time in addition to the tax preparation service.  After completing my MBA in May of 2000, I decided to redirect my business focus from large corporate clients to small business clients.  Over the years, I grew the business out of my home as I raised our four children.  In December of 2012, my husband and I purchased the building at 10 East Main Street, North Canaan, CT.  In addition to the new location, we added Stephanie Bosio, the Financial Administrator, to our staff.  With her expertise, we are able to expand the business to offer bookkeeping and payroll to our small business clients in the Tristate area.  We hope to continue to grow into the future while continuing to offer the quality, personalized services our clients have grown to expect.

Career History

I started as a corporate accountant in the Bethel/Danbury area and prepared taxes in early 1991. Being a "forms" person, I discovered I had a passion for tax.

When our family moved to North Canaan, CT in 1998, I was commuting to Danbury to consult with one large corporation, and started focusing more on tax preparation. After the birth of my third daughter, I decided to stop the corporate consultations and focus primarily on tax return preparation. At the same time I added small business consultations in the local area.

I received the IRS "Certificate of Enrollment" certification in 2004, which allows me to add "Representation" to the many services I offer my clients.

In the future, I am looking forward to expanding the office and adding some personnel so I can continue to serve new clients while maintain the relationships with long-term clients.

As a Tax Professional, my goal is to provide quality tax preparation services at affordable rates, with off-season support.  I am IRS "Representation Certified", and I am always here for you.
